kauai: part one

ahhh kauai, we miss you already.  it's been almost two weeks since we've got back but seems much longer due to a crazy work week and then the family flu.  we had a fabulous time in poipu, especially getting to spend some quality time with 'buelo and 'buela!  the flights were not exactly fun - the kids were ok...not fabulous by any means, but at least the folks around us were commenting on how cute they were once we landed so we took that as a good sign!

our typical day in paradise included waking up way too early, scrambled eggs on the patio, sand and swim time, lunch by the pool, afternoon naps (kids only...sadly we were catching up on work), early dinners, wine, ice cream and then sleep.  we snuck in a few runs, tropical drinks, window shopping and lots of trips to the grocery store.

2 adults, 2 toddlers, 5 hour flight
(pray for us)

fueling up for an exhausting adventure
thankful we had some entertainment since our flight was delayed

the beginning of the end...
boarding took FOREVER and they screamed!

1.5 hours of pure bliss...
followed by 3.5 hours of activities, toys, reading, walking and snacks

the best 35 min of the day was the shuttle to the hotel -
first time we relaxed in 10 hours!

first order of business was creative child-proofing
