4 years + 10 months...and 1 year + 9 months

we've been quite busy lately with work, kids, school, etc. and there is no let up in sight!  all the kids are doing great - we're thankful everyday for these sweet little munchkins.  while everyone has their moments (especially lyla), we feel so lucky to often have good chunks of time now where these three are off playing together (or they often pair off for a bit, and then switch partners).  this is especially helpful to take care of random things like laundry, cleaning, dinner, etc. so that when they are in bed, we actually can sit and relax (with our respective laptops, of course).

another month has flown by

not sure where they learned this pose!

the original pelle cuties

on her way to 2!

we celebrated bones' 8th birthday
(and quickly got worried he would burn his nose)

they were all pretty excited for the party!

bones did not want help opening his gift

instead of chewing his toy, he skinned it.

i took a day off work to enjoy some solitude, and
it was pretty amazing...something i hope to do more often

i left john one morning with instructions to feed,
bathe, and put lyla down for nap

he used unconventional methods...

but successfully got the job done!

a special visit and muni ride with abuelo!

stalking my dinner!!

bones is waiting much more patiently than the kids do

jacks had no interest in watching the voice with us girls

he eventually brought his math book over
(maybe alicia key was too hard to resist)

in addition to the voice, the kids found another
great show to watch with us

lyla's biggest supporters were cheering her on

a self-portrait

the fire museum up the block from us is pretty cool!

they even give out hats and books

we visited some friends in their new house with their new baby

charlotte was very kind to share her toys

the risk we face when driving between 11am and 1pm
(lyla passing out before her 'offical' naptime)

one of the things we appreciate about sf is being
able to scooter to the library on a sunday afternoon

dodging the rain with a starbucks break

family "run"

they take a break on the hills and fuel up with
a pb+honey sandwich

we got to feed working goats that travel
around the city eating up weeds on the hills

it's like we live on a farm! =)

they even convinced sheila to head back the next day in the rain

off for an adventure with sheila

the three muskateers

we brought all her gear to the park, and lyla decided
to fall asleep on the way there

so jacks, livi, and i did some relay races

and then lyla woke up to perform extreme stroller tricks

it was time for livi's semi-annual trim

the kids watched beauty and the beast

can you tell how much they loved it?!

this little picky eater broke her weekend fast
with some good old-fashioned pad thai

her obsession with bones has no signs of waning

"can i wear this (infant-sized) skirt to school?!"

sadly, this is as close to swimming as she's going
to get for awhile...time for another vacation!

trying on some wedding clothes

she's in heaven!  "i'm so fancy, mom"

one.more.baby!!!!

still mastering her spoon skills

still dark on a sunday morning

time to make muffins!

lyla has started this trend of sitting on the kitchen island

we try to say no, but sometimes it's just a battle we don't want to fight

i got startled when we got home, headed to the living room, and saw
bones hidden beneath a pillow and the little mermaid

lyla's starting to have an interest, but we'll keep
those pants on for another 3-6 months!

the season's first rain has arrived and thankfully,
we had livi's old rains coat and boots
