7 years + 4 months...and 4 years + 3 months

after a little hiatus, we are back in action!  it was a busy end to the school year, but now that summer is in full swing, i'm ready to catch back up on this world-famous blog. =)  these monthly shots are from early april, and our adventures around that time included my birthday, the boston marathon and easter (well, an easter egg hunt is about all we do for that day).

thank goodness they still sit and smile for these

as long as nobody is touching, there is no fighting!

crazy ly

a ray of sunshine...usually!

boston airport....waiting for our lyft

someone's got wings!

checked in to the hotel and headed out for dinner

pizza...we're way too predictable

i think we're outgrowing a single hotel room...john's
"office" moved to the hotel bar at 10pm each night

they're like a little old married couple lol

what a treat...lyla and lucas got to share our bed!

meanwhile back in sf...

i'm pretty sure this guy didn't even miss us

our hotel was right on the race route and had
great sign-making materials out all weekend

it kept us all entertained when we needed to
take a break from the close togetherness in our room

expo time!

right about now is when i started
to regret my decision to run

this was right after we lost lyla for a terrifying minute

bringing west coast cool to the east

sisters

life is good!

the kids finished changing and found their swim coach incapacitated

thank goodness for livi!  (neither of us wanted to get in the pool)

an indoor, cold, and tiny pool...still a hit!

all done with the finishing touches

boston was packed everywhere, so we spent an afternoon in cambridge

stumbled upon the harvard natural history museum

every posed picture HAD to start with a silly one

we couldn't get enough of the colors in the backdrop

i do love natural history museums
(the only type of museum i enjoy...to john's dismay!)

croissants and coffee

dark and early

bundled up in old clothing i planned to donate

let's do this!!

patiently waiting for the first runners to arrive

finally putting that sign to work

seriously, another picture dad??

mile 23...so happy to be almost done!

got a better time than when i ran it 10 years ago...i'd call that a win!

post-race pizza and beer

a perfect to ending to our trip

i'm very thankful for my supportive and fun crew...
i couldn't have done it without them!

time for ballet!

showing off his pieces from the art fair at school

more ceramics...yippee!

eating banana bread + watching the rain

even stanley the kitty got to come along for the ride

the rain thankfully cleared right before we headed to school

brothers

john's easter eggstravaganza =)

they ACTUALLY think the easter bunny pulls out our
slide, tunnels, etc. and hides color-kid coordinated eggs

they sure do love it though!

such a good sport. =)

the loot!

candy, candy, and more candy

one cool dude!

duck hunting

hoping to catch sheila for a hello!

cruisin for chicks!

my birthday celebration

croissants, family, dogs, and soccer!  what else do i need?!

cake!!

picking up our chinese take-out

good morning!!

their favorite ice cream spot...the corner liquor store

best.day.ever

our herbie

lyla as "mommy"

not *quite* ready to get out of bed

bubble soccer - such a fun and exhausting activity!

we have a lot of random lyla pictures
that are too cute not to post!

miss sass

swim-team ready =)

mama and her baby

my afternoon date

we ate every last crumb on the plate

sweet as pie

almost ready for school...putting on socks and shoes
take up 80% of her "getting-ready" time in the morning

music time at school

that looks really safe

apparently lyla is model for risk-taking in her class (she hasn't gotten
hurt yet...well at least not at school...only with her parents!)
