fifteen (months) and fantastic! we had a couple of weeks of random fussiness, yelling, fasting...probably due to teething and spouts of vomit/diarrhea, but really, who knows...these toddlers are nuts! i swear one day last week they both woke up from a nap and were all laughs, and since then they seem to be back to their old (usually) cheerful selves.
we headed to the doctor last week, and they are looking mighty fine. the only item we have to keep an eye on is jackson's speech...or lack thereof. while livi has about 15-20 words that we recognize (our favorite is "boo" for bones), jackson has a whopping zero. he's technically supposed to have 3 words by 15 months, so if none appear in the next month or so, we'll be headed for a speech evaluation.
stats height weight head
livi 31in / 75% 22lb 14oz / 40% 47.5 cm / 90%
jacks 31.5 in / 70% 23lb 15oz / 40% 47.5 cm / 75%
the main changes from their 1 year appointment is that jacks surpassed livi in height, and these kids are SKINNY!! what the heck? they still have some chub and buddha bellies, but they really have thinned out - just like everyone said they would once they were walking.
at 15 months, livi loves to do the opposite of what we ask. livi, time to put on your coat - she takes off running the other direction. livi, let's go downstairs - she hides behind the diaper pail. it's pretty cute, because she waits for your reaction and then laughs hysterically when you start chasing her. jacks on the other hand, is surprisingly obedient. jacks, time to put on your coat - he goes and gets it and helps put his arms through the sleeves...even goes and brings livi's back too! he's a great little workhorse - bring me the shoes, can you hand me the book....i think it's making me lazy. on the other hand, if he's really focused on a toy and livi grabs it, he can lose it big time and oh, can he wail.
their new favorite things: shaking hands with each other, pancakes at ellas, waiving at buses (and in livi's case, ambulances too), finding their belly buttons, play structures too big for their age, wheels on the bus song, spoonfuls of peanut butter, carrying around clean diapers (jacks), pointing at jacks' weenie in the tub (livi), and running across the couch.
