the best fan club i could ask for

i recently ran a 10k and john was sweet enough to manage the munchkins while also cheering me on.  i've yet to find a good race where i can run with them in the stroller, so in the meantime, i'll relish in having some alone running time - no dog and no kids!

while jackson may have been a little delayed in his language, he's definitely catching up!  within a couple of weeks, he's had a vocab explosion, and among our favorites are:  ball, eyes, milk, brown bear, alice, shoes, moon, giraffe.   livi has too many words to count but our favorite right now is daddy.  she's had a bit of a mommy phase in terms of wanting to be held by me, so it's really sweet now that she'll yell out daddy (i especially like it when it's 6am and she's calling daddy...i just give john a little nudge and he gets up!).

1 year + 4 months

16 months old and looking more grown up everyday.  it's been smooth sailing lately, but not without a few tantrums for jacks, which we try our best not to laugh at (so your tower of legos tipped over due to gravity? you ate the last raspberry and there are only blueberries left?  i would freak out too).

both are really into books right now and are always bringing over big picture books and then point at every animal, food, truck, etc.  we thought jacks had nailed the word dog with his "daahhh!" everytime he sees bones but it turns out he refers to everything as "dah."  our favorite new word of livi's is "hummus" because it just sounds so cute...our least favorite word is "uh oh" because it means she's testing us to see how many times we'll pick up her fork after she 'accidentally' drops it.
