a really long weekend

john headed out of town wednesday evening for a bachelor party in puerto rico...can you believe he was leaving behind his wife and kids for 5 days!?!  we did all survive but it wasn't easy...thankfully, my parents came up for the weekend to keep me company, and more importantly, to help with the babies!

saturday we drove up to napa to spend the day with the verheys.  it was so nice to see them and just hang out in their beautiful home and yard.  nothing like relaxing in the sunshine surrounded by vineyards and great company!  my parents stayed the night but the babies and i headed back to san francisco.

they slept the entire way home from napa, so following their baths, i let them stay up a little later than usual.  i thought i may have bought myself an extra hour of sleeping in the morning but i sure was wrong...i forgot about our third child!  bones jumped on my bed at 5:50am and then liv started chatting away not too much later.  time to let bones out, prepare the bottles, get the babies changed....the usual start of a new day!  dad finally made it home monday afternoon - more on that in my next post!

visit to day one:   since j and o have definitely NOT been showing signs of malnutrition, it's been quite a while since i've weighed them.  on thursday we headed over to day one (a local baby shop that offers classes, weighing stations and some retail goodies) and i plopped my chunkers on the scales.  jacks almost broke scale at 16lbs 5oz and livi was not far behind at 16lbs 3.5oz.  it's crazy that 5 months ago, they were only 6 lbs!  livi had a small accident there, and of course, all i had was a jacket in the diaper bag.  jacks was so generous to lend one of his shirts but i couldn't let her leave pantless so i bought the cheapest pair of "pants" that they had!

morning workout:  tummy time has been so much better now that they can comfortably hold themselves up for a long time.  it's even better that they can stare at each other - keeps them entertained before rolling back over!

hanging with their weekday crew:  the babes have bigger social calendars than me and john! each day they have a specific class or park they head to and they meet up with all their buddies.  the highlight of my day is always when i get one of these adorable pics from leanne!

saturday brunch:  this weekend we met up with tre, cryztal and odin for some eggs and pancakes.  it was so funny to ask for a table for 4 but actually have 7 of us sitting there.  ours are less than two months older than odin so we know these three will be the best of buds for years to come...just like their daddies!  after brunch, we all headed to the park and odin got to ride in the swing for the first time. =)

bay to breakers:  i was so excited for their first bay to breakers experience.  john had a basketball game that morning so i decided to brave the crowds alone and we headed down to the race. i originally wanted to dress them up crazy so they'd fit in, but cut myself some slack and just left them in their jammies since it was only 7am!
