we decided to celebrate the kids' first official spring break (yes, preschools have spring break) with a wild and crazy trip to mexico. this was also my last hurrah before heading back to work after a lovely maternity leave. the trip was absolutely wonderful, mostly because the weather was perfect and we had our fabulous family with us. not only did john and i enjoy spending time with 'buelo, 'buela, uncle mike and auntie keet, but the kids had additional playmates who spent many hours in the pool with them. we would definitely come back!

in the van and on our way to mexico (the kids didn't think we were in mexico until we got to the hotel) |
| first stop was the pool (even though the sun was going down) |
| the next morning was easter |
| abuela was so sweet to hide eggs for jacks and liv! |

| exploring the hotel grounds |
| i was trying to tire them out so they'd take a nap |
after sand, pool, and lunch, it's time to head inside for an afternoon siesta |
they successfully fell asleep after about an hour of this (creating the barrier did not actually help them settle down) |
lyla and i would hang out on the balcony while the twins napped |
| two virgin miami vices, please |
| they were in heaven |

| enjoyed a dinner out, followed by an ice cream cone |
