lyla's big ole broken head

february started off great - lots of sunny days, ice cream, and conversations about love. lyla was even invited to her first real birthday party by her friend natalie that she sees at the park with sheila.  after lyla chose a gift for the birthday girl and picked out her favorite dress, we dropped john and lyla off at the party.  within 5 minutes, john called me to come get them.

our poor baby tripped on a gymnastics mat and hit her head on the metal stand of a balance beam.  apparently blood was everywhere, her head puffed up, and the gash was deep, so off we went to pediatric ER.  thankfully, the kids all loved hanging out in the er room watching a movie on the tv - in fact the only time lyla got upset was when the nurse was blocking her view of the tv ("i can't see!!!").  lyla's forehead was glued back together and she'll be as good as new in no time (and probably will keep a scar to remind us all of this lovely event)!

jacks and livi's class had a sweet valentines day celebration

he forgot herbie!!!!!!

nothing says february like ice cream, right?!

taking advantage of the unseasonably sunny days

the girls and i checked out a local ice cream truck

in contrast to the fancy ice cream truck, the kids
tasted their first drumstick from the local corner store
they finished every last bite

a rare sweet pic of these two together
