now that school is out, we took our first official summer vacation - we headed to pasadena to visit diana and paul for a couple of days and then continued south to experience the awesomeness of the great wolf lodge. while we had a lot of fun at the hotel with an indoor water park, outdoor pool, arcade, bowling alley, and much much more, this *may* have been a once in a lifetime experience for our family. it reminded me of vegas - no clocks, natural light, or any reason to leave the premises (food and alcohol were plentiful!).

when it starts like this, we know this photo session won't be easy |
| but it was worth it! |
| officially 6 and a half! |
| our crew |
after dropping the dogs at camp, we headed to starbucks to fuel up for our road trip |
| everyone was pretty excited |
| oatmeal and milk...breakfast of choice! |
| we had a long first leg so we could time our stop for fries and milkshakes |
| after relaxing at our hotel, we met up with diana and paul for some pizza |
| followed by ice cream (of course) |
| yummy! |
| sunshine and a pool = heaven for these kids |
lyla started off the trip being timid in the pool (she was not a fan of this) |
| livi and jacks, on the other hand, loved being thrown |
| i think john's arms were getting tired... |
| smiles all around |
my shopping buddies gave me expert advice in the dressing room |
when we came back from shopping, we brought back some gifts for lyla |
| she's got some swagger on her |
our vacation involved doing things we wish we had time for when we're at home... |
like playing at the apple store for as long as they'd like |
| diana took us to a yummy ice cream spot |
| as you can tell, she hated it |
| our little barista |
| pouring her morning coffee |
welcome to the great wolf lodge... everyone gets wolf ears!!!!!!!! |
lyla rode all the slides she was big enough for and loved it! |
for hours on end, we went from the slides to the wave pool to the basketball pool, and back again... |
| she's a little vulture - "what you eating?" |
| waiting for that bite of brownie! |
| my sunbathing beauty |
these two are the sweetest... they literally never (well, almost never) fight |
| all ten of us! |
| hanging out before dinner |
| vacation looks good on her |
he was a little annoyed i made him take a break from playing catch to come take a picture =) |
| yep...just like vegas! |
| daddy's girl |
| look who joined us for a meal?! |
| twins bowling match |
| hanging in our friend's hotel room |
| our last night called for, you guessed it, ice cream |
| sugar highs for everyone! |
back home and ready for fathers' day (yes, lyla found a 2.5 year old pacifier and popped it right in) |
| abuelo came to visit for the day - yay!! |
| while john slept in on f-day, we headed to alamo square |
| post dog-park, father's day coffee |
| i think she has a future in modeling backpacks |
5 mile family run/bike/stroll - riggy lasted 2, lyla fell asleep after 3, and herbie refused to move after 4...not sure i'd call that a success |
| even after the 8th time i asked them to go to bed, they still won't move |
| good morning, boys! |
| time for soccer!! |
it's so fun to watch her on the field - she loves it (unlike the twins at her age!) |
| those dimples always make me smile |
| what is it about dogs and grass? |
| first camp of the summer |
| future olympian in the making |
| gymnastics class complete |
