kauai: part two

for the past two years, john has spent his birthday at work...alone.  thankfully, this year was totally different and our trip to hawaii happened to fall on february 20th.  we didn't do anything wild and crazy (dinner reservations were at 5pm), but i'm pretty sure a day at the beach followed by good food and a hula pie beats an evening in the office.  i think we can say his 32nd birthday celebration this year was a success!

as anyone reading this knows, john is an exceptional friend and dad.  he's fun and goofy and is always welling to pitch in when someone needs help.  in addition to all those things, he is, to nobody's surprise, an amazing husband.  i mean, seriously, what man fetches poop out the tub 3 days in a row without complaint (including on his own birthday), then scrubs down the tub and the kids' toys, all while his wife is giggling behind him and taking pictures (see prior week's post).  i mean, come on, how lucky am i?
