we heart leanne

after the baby party festivities ended, we turned our attention to the holidays - parties, gifts, family and friends.  one thing we spent a lot of time thinking about was a gift for leanne - we wanted to get her something special to show her how much we appreciate everything she does for our family.   the energy and spirit she brings to our house makes us feel so happy and lucky to have her in our lives.  when she walks in the door each morning, jacks and liv light up and immediately smile, and the three of them go on outings every day, including the park, museum, library, and zoo.  honestly, john and i frequently talk about how grateful we are for her.

we heart leanne

no, i love her more

leanne even hides her horror when her birthday gift is covered in little black hairs

she let them open one of her xmas gifts early on a rainy day

leanne even drove jacks and liv to my work for the kids holiday party

other than getting ready for christmas, life at the pellegrini home has been pretty uneventful.  it's been raining a ton, which means fewer trips to the park and more time at home or at the academy of sciences.  time indoors means lots of walking practice.  both are so cute now that they're up and walking.  jacks always has the biggest smile on his face when he starts going, and livi is so cautious that she always stops and sits before she has a chance to fall.

each kid had a wrapped gift at my company party...
these two started ripping into all of them (embarrassing me along the way)

john was working so i was solo with these two...

diaper changes before heading home

i was too lazy to put their pants back on for the drive - they didn't seem to mind.

12 months old: part 2

december 6 fell on a thursday so we headed over to ella's for an early birthday breakfast before work to kick off their birthday celebration!  leanne had organized a little party with their park friends, so i stopped by briefly to join in the festivities - these sure are lucky babies to be surrounded by so much love!

john and i planned a little party at our house on sunday, and we were so thankful that all the grandparents could make it and tons of our friends too.  for the past couple of weeks, we've been working hard to clean up the garage and downstairs room so that the space would be presentable and useable for sunday.  countless hours later, the finishing touches of baby pictures, balloons and flowers were put in place, and we were able to hang out and enjoy our friends and family at the party.  with great weather, delicious food and wonderful company, we couldn't help but deem this party a major success!
