our little cutie!

she looks so grown-up!

she smiled so big when she asked about the flowers,
and I told her they were for her

i had to force myself to limit these pictures to just a
few on the blog

(definitely her father's daughter)

thankfully, lyla transfers well when asleep

mommy and livi date at the theatre

we both had so much fun hanging out without the rest of the pelle clan

pancakes for dinner...yet again
this warranted an immediate rearrangement of furniture

just chillin'

lyla is a big hugger nowadays

i almost cried when both kids politely asked if
they could bring in the trash cans

now they won't sit on the curb for 5 days before john
brings them inside!

4 years + 5 months...and 1 year + 4 months

just when lyla was getting over a ten day illness, livi was slapped with a lovely case of poison oak!  it started with some bite-looking sores around her ankles, which caused us to scour her room for what we were sure must be a spider.  then a week later she broke out in a huge rash all over her arms, legs, and face.  thankfully, that other rash faded after two weeks, but poor livi was an itchy girl for awhile.

jacks continues to be a happy little guy.  he's loving his tee ball and soccer classes, and continues to be complemented on his scooter skills.  apparently he is always the first to "drop in" on the halfpipe at the skate park :-).  also, after 4 years of being the latest sleeper, he's been (shockingly) getting up earlier than livi lately.  he's very proud.

lyla is turning more and more into a little ham...both in terms of her personality and her physical appearance.  she continues to impress us with the sheer quantity of food she can take down - her t-shirts now constantly ride up her round belly as she walks around.  as for her personality, she loves snatching things from jacks or livi and running away as fast as she can to keep them from getting it back, while laughing and yelling.  her two other hobbies are opening and closing doors (she can now reach the door handles), and waving like crazy whenever she sees someone coming or going, whether we're at home or on the street.

it's amazing how well trained these two
are for their monthly pictures

lyla is still learning to smile when
plopped on the laps of her siblings

although she's always easy
when she has the chair to herself

john was in charge of putting ly down for a nap

i was wondering why he was gone for so long

apparently, they had discovered a new game!

look at that little munchkin!

enjoying a warm SF weekend

lyla wasn't as excited by the frigid water

miss poison oak got a dose of benedryl

this was two weeks ago...thankfully, she's looking and
feeling much better now

he fell asleep on our mommy-son date...on the bus

waiting for john's haircut

livi joined me while i got a pedicure

milk...a pellegrini favorite

moving some tomato plants to their own "home"

park time

watching their big sis at ballet

skinny mini after she was sick for 10 days
(thankfully, she ate her way back up the scale quickly!)

she's shy at first, but quickly warms up when
we pick up the twins from school

apparently, this commando crawl is their
go-to activity at the park

no injuries yet!

john and i made dinosaur eggs for a special project at school

it turned out it was pretty hard to get those dinos out!

sheila was out that day, so lyla joined along

she had a blast

especially when the 24 kids were inside and she got the yard to herself

for mother's day, i decided i wanted to go on a
scooter adventure

we went with john and lyla to pick up bones
from camp...and then we were off!

we scooted through new neighborhoods
and took in the sights

3.5 miles later, we made it to the park by grandma vivi's house (there were a few more hills than expected!)

one happy family!
(although it may not look like it here!)

making a wish for ice cream

it wouldn't be mother's day for this mom if it
didn't involve ice cream!

john and i went beer and tequila shopping
for our cinco de mayo party

john was having a little too much fun

the piƱata was obviously the highlight of the party!

i went to nyc for work last week,
and i asked john to send me pictures

thankfully, the kids were very mellow and relaxed in the evenings

per john, "they weren't being very good listeners"
(and threw handfuls of markers down the stairs)

i left them a surprise while i was gone

lyla knows if jacks is excited about something,
she should grab it quick because it must be good!
