walkin and talkin

this past week has been relatively uneventful...in a good way.  we spent a lot of time just hanging out, going to the park and lounging around the house.

jackson is officially walking crawling - he's slow going as he puts one hand out and then follows with the leg but he's definitely covering ground.  he's also been moving himself from his tummy to a partial sitting position (he still puts weight on one arm as he pushes himself up).  he literally never sits still when on the ground...watching him figure out all the new positions has been fascinating.

livi is happy as a clam just laying on her tummy and spinning around to reach what she's looking for - who needs crawling?!?   she's been quite chatty lately - instead of just making some random sounds, it now actually seems like she's "talking"...granted it sounds like "dadadadadada" but it's still pretty impressive.

the constant change we're seeing in this first year has been nothing short of amazing.  as their personalities are becoming more apparent, we're really appreciating them as individuals.  after dinner tonight, john and i were sharing a romantic dessert of oreos and talking about how much fun it's going to be when we get to teach them how to eat their first oreo - dunk in milk or twist apart to eat the filling?!?  we proceeded to get some laughs thinking about how if left alone, jacks will likely have a pile of 10 chocolate wafers and the vanilla filling smeared all across his face. on the other hand, we envision livi with a brown cookie mustache telling us she had cereal for breakfast. =)

twins...and more twins!

we had a wonderful family vacation to seattle!  one of the best parts was meeting the other pellegrini twins...melba and pancho.  while they lag the babies by a month in age, some would say they are just as cute. =)  the grandparents were unbelievable hosts and auntie keet always lent a helping hand (especially on the airplane!).  besides shopping, strolling, and eating lots of home cooked meals, we spent lots of time just hanging out and enjoying each other's company.  we even got to visit grandpa at work!

shop till we all drop!

i really "needed" some new jeans.  i figured i hadn't treated myself to a new pair post-babies so this past weekend it was time.  it also happened to be a big pre-sale at nordstrom so john, my mom, jacks, livi and i headed off to union square on saturday morning.  it was nice because at 10am it was empty so we had time, and more importantly, space to browse around the store.  after trying on more pairs than you can imagine, i found a great pair that will go perfectly with my new boots...yep, treated myself to those too! =)

livi checking out my selection...
yes, we let them roll around on the dirty floor

the rest of the weekend was spent hanging out at home and also going to watch our first gaelic football game.  leanne's husband gregory had a game out on treasure island so we headed there on sunday afternoon.  despite livi feeling lousy, we all had a great time!  it was so fun to watch a new sport, learn the rules, and cheer on gregory.  unfortunately, livi came down with fever for a few days but is feeling much better...of course, now it's poor jackson's turn.
