3 years + 1 month…and 0 months!

here we go with another monthly picture. my friends were joking that they can't wait to see jacks and livi in this seat when they are 16! this may actually happen as i can't imagine stopping these pictures…especially now that we're back at 0 with lyla.

all has been pretty calm at home. besides the usual whininess, the twins have been adjusting well to life with a new baby sister. we think the bigger adjustment for them has been having me and john home all day, every day. we're throwing off their routine!

john and i have been loving the time off of work. we've been doing little projects around the house, binge-watching breaking bad, and going places we usually don't visit when we have jacks and livi with us. i'm going to be so lonely when he goes back to work next week - lyla and i may just have to visit him downtown for lunch!

we went to lyla's first check-up with our pediatrician. based on her birth stats of 7lbs 14oz and 20 inches, she measured in the 75th percentile in weight and 60th in height. she wouldn't be a true pellegrini without a massive head, and she made us proud at 37cm, which is the 98th percentile!

the big kids

i wonder how long all three of them will fit!

let the monthly pictures begin!

a close up of that big head

home from the hospital and
ready for the kids to get back from school

approaching slowly...

cautiously getting closer...

they appear mesmerized...

but, in fact, they really didn't care, and within a minute
they were back to building towers

lyla brought them some new things for their kitchen

all smiles for cupcakes and cookies!

they had quite the reaction when they saw where lyla gets her milk
("that's silly!!")

john had to fill in for me at the beauty parlor

it's amazing how life just carries on, even on the 2nd day back from the hospital

john got them changed after soccer,
and they were off to shelby's birthday party

life doesn't get any better for jacks

he didn't leave a single crumb in that cupcake wrapper
and had the face to prove it

he insisted on helping shelby open his gift to her

the best thank you jacks has ever received

we celebrated grandma vivi's birthday, which happened to be lyle's due date

after a week at camp, bones came home

he asked us why, oh why would we do this again?!
good morning, everyone!

the whole family headed to school on monday

jacks loves to help push the stroller

another chilly san francisco morning

jacks came home that afternoon with a beautiful fruit loop necklace

livi's didn't make it past noon before it ended up in her belly

they always head to the art room in the morning

we love all the creative items the teachers put out for them

one week weigh in appointment

abuelo headed to san francisco for a visit

family dinner

lyla responded appropriately to john
when he told her it was diaper change time

the tummy-time cheering squad

all tuckered out

morning stop at noah's bagels, a family favorite

off to bea and teddy's house with leanne

our little pops of color

swim school...not quite a hit yet but they're tolerating it

lyla makes some new friends with ryann, mark, and crew

kelly and ari came by for a visit
(and brought the best chocolate chip cookie we've ever had)

nawz is practicing for her baby boy due soon

storytime with omid

we headed to a birthday party with huge bouncy houses
that all he kids ran straight into (our kids sat there for a good 20 minutes before even getting close to them)

they appeared to enjoy themselves after an hour!

they were not shy for pizza and cake though!

john had some special helpers with our new rug and couch

bones tested it out and approved

we're trying to take advantage of our time together
once we drop the kids off at school

we headed to union square for some shopping

john finally got some new comfy pants that
don't have holes (courtesy of bones)!

we reminisced at one of our old favorite haunts

jacks approved of leanne's carrot and squash soup!

first real bath...there was definitely a lot less
screaming than the twins' early baths

they love playing 'beauty parlor' but getting my hair
brushed and cut by 3 year-olds is not always pleasant

john can't catch a break...thank goodness bones loves him more than me!

snuggling with her dad

doing what she does best - sleeping!

lyla is enjoying our new series, damages

hmmm, she'll be asleep any minute...
