a great end to a wonderful year

my office is always closed over the holidays (hallelujah!) so i had eleven glorious days at home with jacks and livi.  john had to work for some of the days so i got lots of quality time with the kiddos - enough so, that i've never slept and napped so well from pure exhaustion!  once the family left, we really didn't have any plans so got to spend lots of time hanging around the house and laughing up a storm.

we had a great new year's celebration...an early dinner with ari and then i was asleep by 10pm.  we are crazy!  john made it til 11pm and then was off to the airport at 5:30am to head to the rose bowl.  we felt obligated to discuss our new year's resolutions and both quickly agreed we didn't have any.  this is the first year john hasn't vowed to go to the gym 6 days a week - i guess he figured if it hasn't happened by now, it definitely isn't happening anytime soon.  we both feel like things are going really well and wouldn't change much (well, maybe more sleep, but that's not really in our control at the moment).

over the past couple of weeks, both jacks and livi have started walking like champs. it's been so much fun to watch them learn how to balance and gain confidence in their new activity.  jacks loves picking up speed now and looks like drunken sailor as his body wobbles along.  while jacks is doing laps in the living room, livi talks on the phone all day.  she grabs the tv remote, holds it up to her ear, and starts chatting - it is the absolute cutest thing!  can't wait until we can actually understand what she is saying...

livi always loves a good laugh

these two were hoarding the fruit at the academy of sciences

a climbing skill being perfected...fabulous

he swings back and forth and hums when he plays his music box

they laugh hysterically when they both try to push the seat around and around
