6 years + 4 months...and 3 years + 3 months

april has been brutal so far.  lots of fun for the family but also very busy at work while trying to stick to the last four weeks of my marathon training plan!!  to say i'm exhausted is an understatement!  we are off to eugene on today, run 26.2 miles on sunday, and back home monday...i plan to spend a lot less time in my running shoes in may!

looks like we got a third wheel

adding lyla on top is not going to last too much longer

full of beans!

i love when they sneak a peak at each other

such cuties!

twins?  well, they have the same poor posture

we got about 20 great shots like this

and 1 shot where she's kinda smiling
but at least her eyes are open!

for my birthday, i asked the kids to plan me a party.
lyla wrapped her stuffed unicorn as my gift
(which also happens to be riggy's girlfriend if you know what i mean)

jacks wrapped up tupperware with a key chain he bought at
school with his "wolf bucks" (elementary school currency)

liv gave me lots of little knick-knacks, some art projects...

everyone wanted to try out the lotion i got (john thought this was hilarious)

every good birthday party involves at least
one shirtless guest and one in her pajamas

pellegrinis LOVE pinatas

the lineup: youngest to oldest

batter up!

maybe this will help her like t-ball more?!

time to get the candy to fly!

i decided to go say hi to my sleepy fur-babies

i had told the kids to bring their "friends" to my party
and those friends really rallied for me

livi very carefully and deliberately styled this shot

we then went to eat cake and herbie and riggy stayed with the other animals

the party planning committee decided on an ice cream cake...naturally

i love having helpers for the candles

riggy loves tucking his head under blankets and pillows...
this is an interesting place to snuggle up to!

look at that face =)

the easter bunny came!

john created some obstacles so the hunt wouldn't be over in 30 seconds

broccoli?!?

the whole crazy crew

we babysat the school bunny for a bit...lyla tried so
hard to be calm so the bunny would come out to explore

more bunny-watching

even though max was pretty adorable, john was relieved
that i have no desire to get a bunny of our own

found this gem from jacks' notebook

first warriors game for this little guy!

he LOVED it...john said he was mesmerized the entire game

aren't they adorable??

sunday morning stroll...

to get croissants at b. patisserie!

the sun came out so the girls did a little mediation in the yard

we all watched one of my favorite movies as a kid

john tried but failed at staying awake

lyla succumbed to the same fate

weekend morning outing to alamo square park

the hot cocoa from the coffee truck hit the spot...
as you can see they are bundled up!

even riggy has a quintessential san francisco puffy coat

we discovered an awesome
soft-serve truck in golden gate park

then we took a stroll around stowe lake to visit the ducks

it was one of those rare afternoons where we had no
plans and just explored...my favorite kind of  family time

meeting baby senna for the first time

i think lyla is going to love having a cousin!

we finally got our very own minivan!!!

we picked up the kids and celebrated with...
you guessed it, ice cream!

salt & straw is our new favorite

tried to burn off their sugar energy by a group walk to alta plaza park

trying to stay warm in the wind after an ice cream cone

a rare family selfie

our favorite outtake from the pics john got

art night at school

science night at school

i finally found a way to let lyla safely walk riggy

attach his leash to her belt!
then she can't simply drop his leash when she gets distracted.

of all the ice cream treats at the corner store,
she chose an it's-it...she's definitely a pellegrini

me and my pups on a stroll

the t-ball teams biggest fan!

the only way to keep her happy at these
games is to keep her eating

after dragging the dogs from soccer and then t-ball,
this little guy definitely needed a nap

reading

this is a sweet book about a girl who adopts a rescue pup

i think riggy really liked the story...a happy ending =)

friday morning is work-from-home day!

backyard playtime

enjoyed a warm evening by dining al fresco

yep, they still do everything together

nap buddies

writing numbers....his favorite pasttime

the kids are obsessed with the cooking show "nailed it".
this is her emoji cake!

herbie has passed out from peanut butter kong euphoria

how cool does this big guy look?

anytime herbie seems to be having fun with a toy,
riggy sprints to steal it...and then submissive herbie just waits patiently.

livi is my kindred spirit

wanna dance, riggy?

not sure he's very interested

relaxing

jacks is ALWAYS playing with a ball when we are
outside, and the girls usually just chill with me on the grass

the ultimate relaxation pose!
