a weekend in paso robles

we made plans with some friends to do a weekend away, so decided to head down to a cute farmhouse on a vineyard in paso robles.  while it was unbearably hot (mind you, we're used to 65 degree summers), we had a blast just hanging out and soaking in the sunshine.  it was a perfect stop to break up our drive down to santa barbara to visit grandma susie and papa bob.

roadtrip stop at our usual place - starbucks

where's my latte?!

our farmhouse for the weekend...not bad at all!

checking out the scenery

jacks can entertain himself outside for hours

dinner is served!

we drove to the coast to escape the heat and
see if we could find any seals

on the way back, we stopped at what we thought was a
fruit stand, but it turned out to be so much more

goats, bunnies, birds, a maze...

pellegrinis in the wild wild west

good morning!!  she's happy with her milk and her baby

out for a morning stroll

can you spot jacks?

we stopped by the vineyard's tasting room
to get in a little wine tasting

photo cred: jacks

photo cred: livi

give livi your phone and she snaps
about 40 pic in 2 minutes

wine for me and milk for jacks

livi wanted nothing to do with the family picture

lyla made a 14 year-old friend while both parents were enjoying some wine

dinner with a view

without a high chair or booster seat, john and lyla
were seatmates for the entire trip

off on an evening hike

after looking at the many shots john took,
livi managed a new silly pose in every single one

the pelle trio

everthing jacks has ever wanted in life

we all fit in this twin for bedtime stories

lyla was so excited to be in charge of the tennis ball

thankfully, garbanzo was patient while lyla worked on her chuck-it skills

water balloon time!

better watch out!

practicing his baseball arm

lyla did not know what to do with it

it's like she was just pissed she
had to play along and hold the balloon

she quickly turned that frown upside down
when she got her hands on a squirt bottle

i swear livi was born to be a big sister

packed up and headed to SB...can you tell lyla isn't going to last?

and that's a wrap
