summer outings

in loading our pictures for the past few weeks, i've realized we've had A LOT going on!  all good stuff, of course, but we've had multiple work parties and dinners out as a family and with friends, john headed to london for 5 days, and the kids finished up their summer session at camp.  it's still only july so i'm hopeful the remainder of our summer is just as fun!

after the picnic, we headed straight to the airport to surprise john
(also, so the kids could ride the airport train!)

john was headed home from london
where abuelo was honored at the the royal college of surgeons

we treated ourselves to a coffee and a croissant while we waited for his arrival

the very next day, we headed to sebastopol for a latham picnic

the highlight of any party

thankfully, we were able to avoid getting in the ice cold pool

instead, they played some tackle football

and used a giant hill of dirt as a slide

before our 1.5 hour drive back, we stopped for some "coffee" (aka milk)

bad idea...had to pull over 3 times

john even got in trouble by a cop for pulling over
on the freeway shoulder when the traffic was going 3 mph

baby got a high chair!

they served pizza to baby and monkey

we've been eating our way through summer with
avocado toast (our fav!)

they BOTH went #2 in the potty at the restaurant

the start of 15 years of hard labor at school

one day it's bubbles, the next it was purple colored water

so many fun things to do at school!

a new saturday morning ritual - starbucks before soccer practice
(it motivates us all to get out of the house at 8:30am)

they found a single ant upon exiting the car and tracked the critter for 5 minutes

sunday afternoons sometimes require distraction while we clean up our room

the stadium was packed with roaring fans

they gave john high-fives at each quarter break

santa made a mid-summer trip to san francisco

they were instant masters of the scooter

they worked off their dinner with some wrestling

it's the simple things in life

they graduated from the mega blocks to real legos

the next morning leanne was trying to get them to the park,
and jacks kept say "i'm almost done"

made me want to go out and get bunk beds!
