father's day and a farewell to great friends...

there is not much to say about father's day, except for that these kids have an exceptional father.  anyone who knows john on a personal level knows he's a generous, affectionate, and patient (ok fine, one more - handsome too) person, and thankfully these qualities are huge strengths in parenthood.  he changes more diapers, does more dishes, and washes more hair than i do...and he manages to work 2x as many hours as i do!  talk about a dedicated father.

happy dada's day!

perfect placement so dad can read the sign

morning walk to get a bagel

opening gifts at home
(we were all excited about the little yellow bag from walgreens)

hopped on the bus impulsively and headed to a new sandwich shop

enjoying a night cap (ice cream) with his eldest (furriest) son

we can't forget our wonderful fathers!

john and i like to think we turned out decently well,
and our fathers have been huge influences in our lives

two great friends (mary and lisa) both moving out of state within 2 weeks of each other
(exciting for them but so sad for me!!)

mary and i have been close friends since 6th grade
(she had baby ellie in april and is headed back to phoenix)

mary is a close friend of lisa's from college and
introduced us 3 years ago when she learned we were both pregnant w/ twins
(turns out we lived 2 blocks from each other in sf)

the whole gang!

farewell bbq in our backyard

JT managed to become the kids' entertainment
(i wonder if he does birthday gigs)

who's going to win the big race?

all smiles...something must be up

thanking the man upstairs for great friendships

it was silent for a good 3 minutes

see in you new york, sizemore family!

waiving good-bye to mary, duane, and ellie

until we meet again
(hopefully in the not-so-distant future)

i have afternoons with the kids on wednesdays and fridays,
and we tend to end up at a coffee shop for treats of milk and bagels

soccer stance

the finale of every saturday morning practice includes the beloved parachute

leanne heads out every thursday afternoon with the kids...

summer friday concerts at yerba buena

getting adventurous on her balance bike

changing baby's diaper - even laid out a changing pad (how thoughtful!)

don't worry everyone, bones' heart is still beating

getting messy

climbing trees

if you ever receive this pic (child + ice cream), it can only mean one thing

someone pooped in the potty
(and they always choose to share with each other, it's pretty adorable)

waiting for dad to get home from work

finishing up their snack at sports basement before heading to the toy graveyard

after buying some running shoes, i hang out on the couch while they explore

so much crap, and they sit together in a baby playpen area
(whatever floats your boat!)

getting musical at the discovery museum

what a cutie pie

aunt jackie was in town from chicago so we had another balboa park picnic

uncle mike is clearly the bubble king

it was cold but they kept warm by chasing the parachute

at home jacks comes up to us with the sweetest little voice that you can't refuse...
"do you want to play parachute with me?"

waiting patiently for her french fries to arrive

a quick stop at trader joes for milk

they were thrilled with the tj's daily sample - mango sorbet with a coconut crisp!
