i finally got a chance to run a race with the kids! surprisingly, most races do not allow strollers but i stumbled upon a local 10k that fit nicely in my marathon training schedule. i impulsively signed up on a wednesday for the coming sunday's race, and as the day approached, dread set in (which is always how i tend to feel before a race...yet i keep signing up!). i liked that this was an all women's race and that the mood was very supportive and positive with many of the people running their longest distance yet. given that i'd run a 20 mile training run the day before and was pushing 60+ pounds of stroller and babies, i wasn't sure how the morning was going to go. even though there were barely any other strollers on the course (plenty were on the sidewalks cheering their moms on), we had a fantastic time. all the commotion and the cheering crowds kept the kids' attention, so i didn't have to narrate or sing too much and could just enjoy one of my favorite activities on a beautiful sunday morning.

| turns out that with appropriate precautions, bones was able to "make friends" |

while understandably timid with his muzzle,
he's appears to enjoy his time in the "gentle adults" playgroup |
