snoozie, tailgating, the BART, and much more

the past few weeks have been filled with lots of fun, and they've also been quite busy.  between preschool applications (don't get me started) and getting ready for our trip to washington dc (just in time for the government shutdown), i've let too much time pass since i've updated the blog so it may take a couple of posts to catch up.

in the middle of september, john headed off on a five day bachelor party to vancouver, so nana snoozie flew in for the weekend to provide some adult company for me and an extra pair of hands with the kids.  livi and jacks also made it to their first tailgate of the 2013 stanford football season.  after dodging the rain, they seemed to enjoy watching the football players storm the field and the band run around like lunatics.  unfortunately, our days of them sleeping in the carrier while at the game are over - most of the time was spent climbing stadium stairs, getting water from the drinking fountain and washing their hands in the bathroom sink.

nana snoozie with her soccer tots

waiting for their eggs and guacamole

face-timing with their favorite - Cliff

a trip to nordstrom leads to smiles all around

a nice presidio hike with his nana (he often refused to hold my hand so he could hold hers)

livi was pulling up the rear dragging baby along with her

livi and i headed to pick up some groceries

while jacks and snoozie spent some quality time together

the weekend ended with a trip to walgreens and a special treat from the bakery

jacks and livi's second stanford football season

nikki won them over with a yummy cookie

cheering on the team as they head onto the field

we were all happy that the rain had finally subsided

eating his first waffle fry (dad's favorite)

we probably spent 30 minutes at the drinking fountain

wouldn't you want this family to join your preschool?!?

admiring the san francisco wildlife on our morning run

kim has been kind enough to lend two hands on our weekend long runs

after several miles, we drop them off to hang with dad

the three of them play in the dirt or the sand

the bath usually follows these outings as well

i hadn't taken them to the library in ages, but decided to give it a shot

livi spent all of 2 minutes playing with toys before dumping books off the shelves (leading to an early departure)

jacks, on the other hand, could have spent several productive hours there

we picked up some dog food and bully sticks for bones on the way home

in order to take the kids and bones out together when i'm alone, i have to head to deserted places like the presidio

which means the kids will become covered in dirt

i used my lego skills to help him build a custom car for his bedtime crew

bones was begging to bring his nasty meat bone to the couch (john said 'no way'...such a mean dad)

they love hanging like monkeys

their little footprints are now framed in our bedroom as beautiful works of art

we're always quite surprised with how much they'll actually play together

double the trouble, double the fun

they love on the goat like they love on bones

discovery museum with leanne and crew - life doesn't get much better than this

water park

his love bug

music class - jacks is a bit skeptical about this enzo guy

post-music visit to the beach

hmmm, what'd you get in your lunch box?

los tres amigos

kisses, kisses and more kisses

taking a trip to the east bay to visit polly pup

riding the choo-choo train...can you guess which baby is which?

tunnel, tunnel!

sitting comfy on dad's back

polly pup was not impressed by livi's belly button

livi and jacks wanted to join the pot-luck with my coworkers

he convinced me to let him hold the cone all by himself

of course, livi then had a turn

they got a huge kick out of feeding each other

ice cream and ponies - never gets old

holding on to the reigns

we headed to a carnival held at natnat's elementary school

they got to decorate their own cookies

eating them was obviously their favorite part

getting to hold their own pears has been a recent highlight for them

we came all the way to the carnival, let's get on a ride!

they surprisingly enjoyed it...john and i, on the other hand, were nauseous for the rest of the day
