1 year + 10 months = exhausting

what can we say?  this age has been tiring to say the least.  they are still so fun - singing songs on their own, playing and reading books together, laughing hysterically while they are doing something naughty (like throwing their water bottle at the mirror) - it really is hard not to smile when you're around them.  but OMG...we feel there is always one child who is whining, throwing a fit, or insisting on something ridiculous (like mama pick up, dada pick up, leanne knee, other water bottle, more water in water bottle, blah blah blah).

livi is chatting up a storm.  john and i had the "privilege" of sharing a hotel room with the kids, and the amount she talks before going to sleep is quite amazing.  while rolling around in her crib, she lists off about 15 people's names to whom she says "hi" or "goodbye" to.  she also sings "this old man, he plays one..." and her usuals like "abc's" and "twinkle twinkle".  she also has a big heart (at least that's what we like to think)...if anybody is upset, she gets a tad distressed herself.  if a baby is crying, she looks distraught as she says "baby sad, baby sad".  she's also quick to proclaim if she or anyone else has an 'owie'.  empathy?  not sure...considering she'll hit us in the face two minutes later.

jacks is obsessed with trains - this is great considering he can spend a great deal of time linking his choo-choo's together and having them go down the ramp of the bridge and through the tunnel.  however, inevitably the train falls off the track at some point and he gets upset.  thankfully, he's a quick learner so is getting better and better at keeping his trains in line with what he wants them to do.  our ears thank him.  jacks is also putting together lots of new little phrases.  his favorites right now are "make bubbles" for getting the bathtub ready and "another __" typically 'bus' when he's sees multiple things in a row.

there they are...so grown up!

oh, these treats are tasty!

pretty please, i'd love another one...

i said MORE, NOW!!
