after more than fourteen glorious years, my parents' beloved labrador jake was laid to rest on sunday, june 3. we were so excited to have j and o meet their uncle jake in two weeks in sb, but it just wasn't in the cards. while it is true that all dogs go to heaven, we never had any doubt with this sweet boy.
john and i have always had a special place in our hearts for jakie. since john's first visit to san marino in 2000, jake has always been a source of conversation for us. being such a wiggly, bouncy, happy pup, he would never fail to bring a smile to our face! even after having an eye removed and the other one going blind, followed by the loss of most of his hearing, he would still wag his tail in excitement every time someone came in the door. he will surely be missed!
