6 years + 7 months...and 3 years + 6 months

in addition to our summer travels, the kids have been having a blast at various camps.  so far the two front-runners couldn't be more different from each other.  coastal camp is a day camp out in the marin headlands, where they hiked all day, learned about sharks, ate lunch on the trail, and sang traditional camp songs (we even took a tick off jacks head on the last day - yay nature!).  creativeIQ is an art camp where they drew, painted, and worked with clay in a small art studio - all indoors and with 15 other students 6-13 years old. i'm happy they have such varied interests!  we are now in countdown mode - less than 1 week until 1st grade starts.

and yeah, these pictures below were taken july 6...and it's august 14th...i'm THAT far behind!!!

we've let them get creative with the group shot since
they hate all being squished on the chair

tuckered out after all that camp fun

when jacks and livi went on a sleepover,
lyla got a special evening full of movies

i surprised her with paw patrol shaped mac n' cheese while watching
paw patrol!!!!  (aren't i the best mom!?!)

the next morning john and lyla had a breakfast date

and then headed over to get the kids

instead of picking them up, john, lyla, and the dogs joined the playdate

we all headed to the marin county fair with oona's family

i think lyla had fun

her "thumbs up" pictures crack me up

they rode the teacups over and over and over

two of them didn't make it home awake...
and the other somehow lost her shirt
