i love vacation

it has felt like forever since we've taken a vacation. now that jacks and livi are in elementary school, travel is somewhat restricted to major holidays and spring break, which are unsurprisingly, the most expensive times to travel!  for memorial day weekend, we headed to park city, utah with 6 other families, and for five glorious days, we caught up with amazing friends, ate delicious food, and took a break from the craziness of our daily lives. i'm very thankful for vacation and especially for wonderful friends and family to share it with.

ditching school and off to the airport

traveling with friends is always more fun that traveling alone

on the shuttle to pick up our rental car

someone was ready for a nap

before checking into the house, we had to make an emergency stop

ice cream...it's just what we do

the house we stayed out was pretty incredible

it came with games for all ages!

not a bad view from the hot tub

all of john's dreams coming true (minus all the kids)

moana on the big screen?  yes, please!

the guys used the theater for, not one, but two playoff games

when we couldn't find lyla, she was usually off playing/harassing the babies

she's going to be an excellent babysitter one day

the girls

chase generously sharing his snacks with lyla

moose riding at the house

not actually sure these are meant to be ridden!

every day, multiple times a day

room for two!

the amazing appetizer spread...the highlight each day was the food!

can you count all 25 of us?

life doesn't get much sweeter than this!

exploring park city

smoothie time

that's a berry pretty smile

time for a train ride

all aboard!

getting nervous...the bandits are on the way

hands up!  someone is looking to steal chocolate

choo-choo!

the pelle girls

enjoying the live music

i can't believe we all look authentically happy!

dad and baby

that was one successful outing!

time for a hike

while some napped, we went out exploring

livi found snow!!!

it was like she found gold..she was that happy
(maybe we should take them to see non-brown snow)

afternoon "tea" at the st. regis

alexis, kim, me, kelly, katie, ryann, kim

life is good

packed up and depressed to be leaving

breakfast before we get to the airport

next door was a best friends adoption center,
so of course we had 5 minutes to spare to peak inside

lyla was practicing a new habit
she observed from her new friends =)

all i need is one free hand

back in san francisco with our furry friends

what would we do without the bob stroller?

my boys

when lyla skips her nap,
she doesn't always make it to bedtime

at least she left me some space (not sure what john's going to do!)

getting some fresh air

are they starting to look alike or is it just me?

i love when everyone fights over me

hey there, turkey butt

lyla challenged john to put baby's clothes on WHILE
the warriors game was on...it was tough, but he passed

quick trip to the corner store

visitng the walt disney museum with sheila

not too shabby of a view

i guess i'll get ready for work now...no space for me! :(
good morning, sunshine!

i remember pre-kid days when i was up and
out of the house in 25 min...now it's 45 minimum

releasing of the class butterflies on their last day of kindergarten

almost 10 months from when it started...not sure how much
they've physically grown but they seem a lot older to me
