5 years + 9 months...and 2 years + 8 months!

lots of picture below to catch up on the month!  back to school means back to craziness, and the addition of herbie feels like we've added a 4th child at times (especially when i drop him and pick him up at doggie daycare 4 days a week).

the best news of all is that lyla is potty trained!  while she's had some accidents, she took to it pretty quickly - it turns out m&ms work like a charm for pellegrini potty trainers.  i am definitely not missing diapers or stinky diaper bins one bit!

one month older

our three goofballs

jacks + bunny + livi

the terrible two's are dragging on and on and on...

mr. herbie

the whole family was carbo-loading for my marathon

oreo cheesecake was polished off in our motel room

after john and the kids kindly dropped me at the start at 6am,
they got some donuts  (and coffee) to help them wake up properly

don't they look thrilled to be waiting for me to run by?

are they just the cutest?!

you gotta wait just a  few more minutes...

i survived!! so happy to have the family their for support

my post-race meal was delicious!

me and my mini-me

after heading back home from the race,
i needed something sweet

while we do sometimes wait in line,
it is totally worth it!

we still make poor lyla share with us, mainly so
we don't feel guilty about ordering a double scoop

i get some alone time with this munchkin in between
school drop-off and sheila arriving on fridays

my favorite part is that she's always in a good mood

our new home office...
and yes, i move herbie's bed next to me

an unconventional diaper changing station

lyla and her first pair of undies!

the kids enjoyed our latest hear wave

we even invested in a kiddie pool...it will probably be used once a year

lyla now regularly asks to sleep in livi's bed
herbie's favorite spot in the car

her chuck-it skills are getting pretty good

lyla loves to help the doggies get fresh water

early morning playtime in golden gate park

getting ready for work while lyla is sleeping and herbie keeps a watchful eye

herbie was not too sure about the new family addition

lyla at gymnastics class

she looks like a natural, right?

carousel time

multi-tasking at dinner

what goes best after pizza?

herbie and one of his buddies at camp

lyla's doing her chores

uncle mike and auntie keet brought up some great kid toys

jacks first counted how many flips of the tire it took
to get to the other side of the yard

uncle mike then started his own boot camp class

livi responded well to mike's encouragement

lyla is off to the park!

she is such a little ham like her big sister

john led the kids on their second 5k
(which ended up being about 4 miles!)

thankfully, it did involve beautiful trails

lots of steps

and even some reminders that we're still in san francisco

while it did take over an hour, we hope they felt a sense of accomplishment!
