5 years + 2 months...and 2 years + 1 month

2017 has been treating us well so far!  while the year had a busy start, we both feel like we've had a little room to breathe lately.  our weekends have been relatively free from travel and birthdays, so we've been spending more time at home, venturing out to cruise around on scooters and bikes.

nobody was interested in taking pics this month

thankfully, holding a cookie over john's
head got a few smiles

natural models =)

let the countdown until 3 begin!

we couldn't find her usual prop, so mickey had to do

it took five years, but jacks and livi now like salad!

salad making is the perfect kid activity

arugula, carrots, peanuts, raisins

a shot of flax oil to get things moving!

a perfect weeknight dinner after the kids are asleep

mornings with lyla

lyla has a limited diet -
thankfully, breakfast burritos make the cut

so does pasta!

evening snuggles

a typical saturday morning for us

little painters

passed out

dropping off her friend luca at school

mid-week fun

can you tell they love their little sister?

thank goodness for indoor spaces to escape the rain

can't believe our kids are on real bikes...where has the time gone?

lyla and i went on a run to pick up jacks and livi

by the time we got to their friend's house, it was pouring

even though we were soaked and livi cried the
whole way home, jacks and i had a blast!

loaded up and off to run errands

an afternoon ice cream treat

we then headed to the park to burn off some energy

later that afternoon, we headed to urgent care after i sliced my finger

they were very excited to watch my wound get tended to

when i got dizzy, they made me lie down so the kids became unsupervised

thankfully, lyla was strapped in or we all would have been in trouble

after an hour, i was bandaged up and ready to resume making dinner

john was in tahoe for the weekend, so i relaxed
with a glass of wine and my guard dog

sharing a bowl of yogurt

bones is not so sure about this idea

livi's bear mask and jewelry making machine

we are all very happy when john gets home from work

ride 'em cowgirl

milk bubbles

a new hairdo

reflecting over brownie batter

playing house...it's bedtime!

lyla's daily chore

you have to keep an eye on her or his bowl will quickly be overflowing

bath time always brings (more) chaos

flying baby!

chopping grapes at a birthday party

jacks got mail from a friend after he sent her a letter

livi was PISSED she didn't get a letter too (but we
reminded her that you have to send mail to get mail)

park clean-up day with their preschool

the area was surprisingly pristine...
so we did some weeding instead

after it started raining, they began examining worms in a magnifying glass

ready for her visit to the dentist

our little pro

lyla's first visit was a success
(not that you can tell from her expression)
