4 years + 9 months...and 1 year + 8 months!

while john and I are mourning the end of summer, jacks and livi were so eager to start back at their beloved preschool.  their class shrunk from 24 to 12 kids as half the class headed off to kindergarten, so jacks and livi are now enjoying being the big kids on campus! it’s now our turn to spend the next few months touring and applying to schools for next year.  what little free time john and i used to have will now be non-existent - yippee!

our littlest munchkin (aka lyla) is growing like crazy (wearing livi’s 2T clothes!), and is also starting to say more and more words – a recent favorite is “bum bum” – she points to her own bum or goes and taps someone else’s (including bones’). she's holding strong on being a horribly picky eater - thankfully, after going through phases with both livi and jacks, we’re fine with her diet of banana, cheese, milk, raisins, pb sandwiches, etc.  it will change eventually, right?!

all smiles...and no longer needing to be bribed!

the chair is feeling a bit smaller lately

getting silly as usual

livi just couldn't help herself

getting so big!!

lyla's ready for our family run!

thankfully, she was content to sit in the car
instead of run alongside

off we go DOWN the hill

our first run was somewhat successful...
they shockingly got bored after the downhill part ended

lyla is just like bones...
can't keep her eyes off of a passing dog

hanging out in the closet is a favorite upstairs activity

lyla LOVES to sit in bones' "lap"

sisters <3

a new scooter girl in town

apparently this happens every weekday morning

don't go to work, daddy!!

a day at the park

olympic training camp

flying high

around and around she goes!

reenacting the nightly scene when john and i
see each other after work

the best assistant a girl could ask for

i'm very loyal to my two make-up consultants

waiting patiently for lyla's first haircut

she FREAKED out when the lady put the cape on her

thankfully, livi knew just how to help?!  =)

tah-dah! although w/o that clip, her bangs looked horrible!

i don't think liv can get any cuter

scooting date with their buddies in golden gate park

zoo pics

our mini giraffes

father-son date with his buddy cooper

let football season begin!

male bonding

more snuggling....bones is thrilled

we took a few minutes to finish a good song...
apparently john did not appreciate all the honking from the driveway

first day of TK!!

goldiblox and her zipline

this boy has a voracious hunger for numbers

chariot rides in the living room

when you're not allowed to walk the dog...

these two do silly like no other...
and it always peaks at dinner time

our street artist

ladies that lounge

hopping around town

carbs and cheese...a pellegrini staple

perfecting her soccer stance

back on the soccer field and loving it!

while i was out of town, john took these two out for special date night

pizza and ice cream!!

meanwhile livi had her first sleepover and did great!

and lyla and jacks tried to avoid bedtime for as long as possible

this was before she tipped forward and face-planted it
on the cement (and had the marks to show for it!)

the ladies got sidetracked by flowers while
jacks continued to speed down the paths

feeling orange

i see you!!!!

killing time on the ramps at costco while we wait
for our date (aka john) to show up

so excited for our friday night family adventure!

everyone is in position

we all forgot how much fun costco can be!

there is so much love and closeness between these three

twin sleeping poses

our first family game of the season

with lyla in tow, we had to do some
laps around the stadium to tire her out

the view doesn't get much better than this

it was a packed game, which made it feel festive and fun

and the best part was that we got a rare
picture with all 5 of us looking at the camera!

we made it home by 9pm, but only one cutie was able to stay awake
