3 years 9 months...and 8 months!

another month has flown by and all the kids can talk about is their birthday.  i'm not sure they really understand that it's three months away.  they've also requested that santa bring them birthday crowns for their 5th birthday.

due to their new school schedule, jacks and liv no longer have afternoon naps.  while this is nice because bedtime is a breeze each evening, by friday they are totally exhausted!  livi has also officially stopped wearing pull-ups at night - woohoo!  jacks has been out of them for several months, so now lyla is the only one left with diapers to deal with!

lyla continues to move backwards when on her belly, but we think she's pretty close to crawling.  she adores her new roommates and can even fall asleep in the same room with the twins when they are still chatting in bed. she does end up in our bed between 5am and 6am each morning, and will either drift back to sleep or - my favorite - get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth, which is quite distracting when i'm trying to get a few more minutes of sleep before livi inevitably joins us in bed!

not much space left on this chair anymore!

the pelle trio

lyla is such a trooper

all by herself for once

lyla is on the move

she's not the most graceful

but she's quite the model!

livi and i are off to the airport for a special date

she was so patient as we waited
to board the plane for burbank

seat belts on and ready to go!

meanwhile, back at home things got crazy!

jacks got to choose which park they went to

they met up with a friend and got an ice cream treat

the highlight of livi's trip was probably diana's cat

we may have also stopped for some ice cream
(shocking, i know)

we snapped a picture of us at the house i grew up in

pad thai, an avocado and milk...
dinner of champions!

livi was in heaven with candy and cartoons

getting ready for bed

john likely cracked open a beer after this one passed out

these three headed out sunday morning to visit a special friend

jacks was thrilled to ride the bus to leanne's new place

yogurt smoothie...yes please!

beached whale on leanne's couch

livi had a wonderful start to her morning with cheerios
on diana's couch...with more cartoons

after some initial anxiety about our girls' trip, liv had a great idea to stay
another night (i wonder if it was the chocolate chip pancakes)

saying farewell to nala

waiting for diana to drive ALL the way home from the
airport because we left livi's backpack (mom fail!)

we grabbed the backpack with 10 minutes to spare
and ran through the airport (thankfully they don't shut the
plane doors until 5 min before the departure time)

after the huge scare with a backpack left behind,
livi was reunited with baby and blankie

she enjoyed pretzels and daniel tiger

she insisted on pulling my bag...she looks so mature!

this was two minutes after getting in the car...
I guess she had a fun trip!

they were so excited to be reunited

livi gave jacks his gift (candy) and they sat and ate it together

that afternoon we headed to the brady house for a bbq

she was content but sleepy

she actually fell asleep to really loud 90's hip-hop

our little angel amidst pure chaos
(aka livi showing odin and nat pictures of her trip with me!)

on the 'bus' with all their luggage

look what the m&m fairy
 left under the couch!

making himself useful

bubble mania

perfecting her craft

the classic lyla stare

bones is obsessed with licking her mouth

with the help of a lot of tape, livi made
lyla a beautiful cape from burp cloths

the queen of the dining table

the whole gang in the morning

the kids no longer nap during the week, but usually pass out on the weekend

checking out gym class!

we had to hide from the sun at the park
 during an SF heat wave

these three were enjoying the sun
