2 years + 3 months...and john is 33!

the past month has brought us lots and lots and lots of singing.  it often takes them 45 minutes to go to sleep every night - no matter how early or late we put them down.  as i type, livi is singing ring-around-the-rosie in her crib, and as she finishes, jacks laughs hysterically and shouts "more, more!"  we often wake-up to lovely renditions of 'old macdonald' and 'farmer in the dell', a new favorite.  we feel like they are getting more and more adorable everyday (even with all the poop accidents), and even though there is likely another crazy, tantrumy phase around the corner, we're enjoying their delightful company in the meantime!

i am happy to report that the whole preschool debacle has finally ended.  we got accepted to a few great schools and actually had a tough time deciding.  how important are logistics?  proximity to our house?  full-time vs part-time? big school or little school?  it's great to have choices, but making these decisions is not really our strong suit.  in the end, we decided on a part-time option, which of course is logistically the most difficult for us.  on the flip side, it is a smaller program that feels nurturing, has a great space, and one that we think our kids will love.

not much else has happened except that john turned 33!!  he's also headed off to rwanda and uganda for 12 days next week to visit ari and kelly.  he's obviously excited and i am as well, especially for him to have a real break from everything - work and kids included!  my next post will show what the kids and i have planned, and it may include a picture with everyone's favorite rodent at the happiest place on earth!

as soon as john got out the camera, they hit this pose?!?

being that it's the 27th time they've done this,
i'm happy to report they just climb up and smile

we managed to send birthday cupcakes to john at work and throw him a pizza party
(gone are the days of "real" gifts, dinners out, and sleeping in...past 8am)

we even had people betting on the horse races!

this gave me flashbacks to our first flight when they were three months old...
except we had way less space in the airplane bathroom!

john was skeptical about the addition, but what kids grow up without a microwave?
oh wait, john did.

this is how she poses for pictures when she says "cheese"

they tried out some scooters at the park

they love gym class!

moments later, he did the 'iron cross'
