1 year + 6 months

18 months and definitely not getting any easier!  i know the real fun hasn't even started but we've been experiencing lots of whining, snatching, and throwing toys (in frustration).  on the good side, they aren't hitting or biting each other much, and instead are laughing together and getting a kick out of mimicking each other's naughtiness if we tell one of them 'no' (like rubbing hummus in their hair).  jacks has become an expert at puzzles (the ones with huge peg pieces) and loves vacuuming the carpet with his mini-dyson (or 'hoover' as leanne likes to call it).  when livi isn't pushing her mini-stroller around, she spins around and around, falls over and declares "dizzy!"

both are doing great with their language - we counted 35-40 words for liv and 30-35 for jacks, and the doc said she only expected 10 so they are doing great.  we were also warned that tantrums are common at this age...we've already had some practice with them so no shocker there.   thankfully, both are as healthy as an ox!

stats         height                      weight                     head
livi        32.5in / 70%          24lb 8oz / 60%      48.5 cm / 90%
jacks       33 in / 70%          25lb 11oz / 50%      49 cm / 80%

growing like weeds

bundled up for a morning run

we never get tired of this view

sending john family pics while he was in miami

i'm always envious when i'm working from home and see this

they both can climb the wall!

rockin' out

john dresses like an 18month old

people keep saying we look alike...not sure yet whether i agree

bones' bed is a baby magnet

busy morning at work

re-purposing their chairs
fort?  barricade?

i wish they'd snuggle all day long

i got so many laughs from leg tickles

love those dimples

tuscon bound

we had hoped this would have put them right to sleep for the 8pm flight

ugh, they didn't sleep until 11pm that night
(had to adjust my expectations big time)

you know we're on vacation when i get chocolate chip waffles at the hotel buffet

spent the first day at the tuscon mall to get a dress and suit
(ours never made it in the suitcase)

someone also forgot his toothbrush

they loved the pool

had so much fun splashing and crawling around on the first step

drying off in the shade

the desert heat was no joke!

loved the landscape

she gets easily flushed when overheated

keeping hydrated

we had a little putting green outside our room

liv was more of a snacker than a golfer

getting a lay of the land

as expected, jacks was mesmerized by the golf balls and livi by the snack cups

collecting the balls

he had a blast!

we were surprised at how much they took to the random babysitter
while we went to sara and tim's wedding

all dolled up in our new clothes

the bride and groom

i tried to coax them to the shaded pile of rocks
at the post-wedding brunch

but they were drawn to the pool

taking the dog out for a potty break

the crocodile fainted in the heat

we'd give livi two yogurt puffs and ask her to give one to jacks

50/50 she'd eat them both

we were all up at 4am for a 6am flight...and they still haven't slept

re-energized by the choo-choo train ride to baggage claim!

almost home...
