we had a great week of just hanging out at home, visiting with friends and going to the park. jacks and i also made a trip to the pediatric ophthalmologist because we were worried that his eyes weren't tracking the same. after dilating his eyes, the doc used some medical contraption to look in his sleepy eyes and said he looked fine...yippee, no eye patch! the whole experience was weird though because i am so used to always having two babies that i missed livi the whole time but also really liked being able to give jacks all my attention. i always see the babies as a duo so it felt really odd that they weren't together. it made me appreciate the unique life all four of us are experiencing!
the rest of the week involved reading books, playing with toys and trying new foods (hooray for mango and carrots). jacks has been up on his knees lately...looks like he may be crawling soon...so scary!! livi, on the other hand, has been quite chatty - especially at 5am! they are now starting to wake each other up in the morning by just talking, so if one wakes up early, we quickly bring them to our bed to let the other baby sleep. this morning i brought livi to bed and after about 5 minutes of chatting and kicking around, she coughed...and finally, dad wakes up! it was priceless to watch john roll over confused and have livi just staring at him smiling. it made me smile too. =)
